Analyze the metallographic characteristics of your welds with Accutek

Cross section of GMAW
fillet weld in steel.
Welds hold the majority of structures in the world together. A slight crack or improperly executed weld procedure can be catastrophic. Accutek helps our clients ensure their materials and products perform as required.
Alternatively, if a failure occurs in the field, Accutek’s experienced metallographic and weld analysis team can provide a failure analysis on what went wrong – and how to avoid a failure from occurring in the future
Process for Metallographic Weld Evaluation
When we receive your weld test coupon at our facility, the preparation process begins. Specimens are prepared for testing by mounting, polishing and etching prior to beginning the evaluation.
During weld evaluations, a member of our team evaluates the weld at both the macro and micro levels. Accutek provides visual evaluations for cracks and abnormalities at the weld site. If a visual inspection shows no abnormalities, we also offer a microscopic evaluation showing microstructure up to 1500X with our metallographic microscopes.

Weld Grain Evaluation - 100X
Our knowledgeable staff includes two Certified Weld Inspectors, as well as qualified engineers who are on hand to answer questions and make recommendations to ensure successful completion of your evaluation.
The testing involved in Metallographic Weld Evaluations can provide answers to failures in the field and poor performance during mechanical tests.
