NIST Certified Impact Testing Services for your QA/QC requirements.

Charpy Impact tester released
Impact testing has been used in industry for over 100 years as a quick and economical way to establish a material’s impact toughness. This high strain rate type of testing usually involves the impact of two objects at a high speed. Whether for quality control purposes or identifying the optimal material for a given application, Accutek’s impact testing services provide the results you require.
Accutek’s turnkey impact testing programs include test specimen preparation/machining (v-notch) in our in-house CNC machine shop, impact toughness determination on our NIST certified test frame, and data analysis and reporting by our experienced test engineers and technicians. Charpy impact testing is offered at high and low temperatures, as well as room temperature.
Charpy Impact Testing
Accutek’s NIST Certified Charpy V-Notch testing services offer you a cost effective method for measuring the relative toughness of a material. Accutek performs charpy impact testing in accordance with ASTM E23, which governs details such as notch dimensions and sample size. Charpy testing can be performed on a variety of materials, including metals, polymers, composites and ceramics.
For a charpy impact test, a v-notch is machined in the test specimen prior to testing. The specimen is then loaded into the charpy test apparatus and a pendulum axe swings toward the v-notch in the test specimen. The amount of energy absorbed by the material is then calculated to determine that material’s toughness.
