Accredited mechanical testing services for your total hip prosthesis
In the past 50 years, there have been many advances and changes in the design of the total hip prosthesis. Accutek routinely performs mechanical testing on emerging designs and predicate components of hip implants to ensure they meet market and regulatory requirements.

Mechanical Testing of Total Hip Prosthesis
Accutek’s test engineers have extensive experience working with the components of Total Hip Prostheses. Our mechanical testing services include test runs in ambient air and in vitro environments, to ensure our clients are equipped with the information they require when seeking regulatory approval. In addition, Accutek’s extensive metallurgical laboratory can assist your engineers in identifying and characterizing fretting corrosion between modular connections, as well as providing failure analysis services on tested components.
Clients with an innovative new design may also benefit from our custom test protocol development services. With our in house machine shop all fixturing can be developed in-house by an accredited, experienced laboratory.
Accutek can help you achieve your testing goals. Our breadth of understanding in managing standard ASTM and ISO tests and developing custom protocols will provide you with a clear perspective for your testing program in a timely, cost-effective manner. Accutek’s previous experience in testing many different total hip prosthesis designs includes: femoral stems, acetabular cups and liners, and the femoral head components.
