Winners Announced on November 3
Cincinnati Business Courier has named Accutek Testing Laboratory as a finalist for their 9th Annual Best Places to Work Survey. This is Accutek’s second consecutive year as a finalist in the small business category.
Company President, John McCloy, said “We are thrilled that Accutek has once again been recognized as a top place to work in Cincinnati. Accutek strives to show our team the value of their contributions. This is a place where talent and achievement are rewarded.”
The Business Courier will announce the Winners for the 2011 Cincinnati Best Places Work Survey at the Duke Energy Convention Center in Downtown Cincinnati on November 3, 2011.

Accutek should have won this award both years it was up for it. I firmly believe no company cares more about their employees then Accutek. Maybe this year will be Accutek’s year.

I agree completely with Michael. Accutek has grown into such a dynamic business capable of tackling projects from diverse industries of various maturities. Such as the orthopedic industry who is just starting to accept that even in good designs cracks do occur. In contrast, the aerospace industry has a very deep and thorough understanding of crack initiation and behavior and how to design structures which will inevitably crack in service but still remain safe.
The broad perspective that the testing industry provides as well as the opportunity for specialization is what makes Accutek great for me.

To be honest, this nomination doesn’t surprise me at all. I’ve been a project engineer at Accutek for the last 6 months, and I have been very happy working here. Below are some reasons I enjoy working here:
*I have been allowed to pursue personal projects with Accutek’s equipment. I love building things and access to professional machining equipment has opened many doors to bigger and better projects for me.
*Accutek is small enough to know everybody, but big enough to tackle big projects.
*Accutek provides a comfortable learning environment. When I am given a task that requires skills I don’t yet have, it’s easy to find someone willing to show me how to do it.
*The management here has been generous with compliments and rewards for quality work. Not to mention the bonus activities, such as the steak and lobster dinner for the whole company last Christmas.
*My job requires me to do so many different things, I never get bored because I don’t have monotonous work.
*The management is open to ideas for improvement and willing to try new ways to do things.
*Every Wednesday morning, Green Bean Delivery drops off a crate of fresh organic fruit for everybody!
For all of the above issues, I can think of another company I have worked for in the past who has failed to live up to Accutek’s standards. The little things like these make it an obvious candidate for the Best Places to Work nomination.
